Place, time and manner
Some adverbs say where something is: está aquí (here) or está allí (there). Others say when something happens: ahora (now), hoy (today), mañana (tomorrow). And others say how something is or is done: estoy bien (well) or habla mal (badly).
With muy you can make a place adverb more precise: el banco está muy cerca (very near), el aeropuerto está muy lejos (very far).
siempre (always) and nunca (never) are also time expressions - here they show frequency: siempre trabajo los lunes (I always work on Mondays), nunca trabajo los domingos (I never work on Sundays). You will also meet nunca again, with a focus on negation, on the "Negation with no" page.
Connecting statements: y, o, pero, entonces
With y (and) you connect two things that are both true: trabajo y estudio. With o (or) you name an alternative: ¿té o café? With pero (but) you show a contrast: soy alemán, pero vivo en Panamá. And with entonces (so/then) you show a consequence: son las nueve, entonces vamos a casa.
también and tampoco
With también (also/too) you agree with a positive statement: me gusta el café - a mí también. For a negative statement you use tampoco (not ... either) instead: no trabajo los domingos - yo tampoco.
