Meals
The day has three meals: el desayuno (breakfast), la comida (lunch) and la cena (dinner). The matching verbs: desayunar, comer and cenar.
Hunger and thirst
In Spanish you "have" hunger and thirst: Tengo hambre. (I am hungry.) Tengo sed. (I am thirsty.) Very practical: Tengo hambre. Quiero comer. Tengo sed. Quiero agua.

Two useful umbrella terms: la fruta (fruit) and la verdura (vegetables). For example la manzana (apple), el plátano (banana), el tomate (tomato) and la patata (potato).
How much? mucho, poco, bastante
mucho, poco and bastante tell you how much someone eats or drinks: Bebo mucha agua. (I drink a lot of water.) Como poco pan. (I eat little bread.) Como bastante fruta. (I eat quite a lot of fruit.)
hay with food
hay also helps here to say what is available: En la nevera hay leche. (There is milk in the fridge.) Hay agua en la botella. (There is water in the bottle.)
Tableware and cutlery
To eat you need el plato (plate), el vaso (glass), la taza (cup), el cuchillo (knife), el tenedor (fork) and la cuchara (spoon).
